March 2017
Dear Friend of Garfield Park,
On behalf of the Friends of Garfield Park, Inc., (FOGP) I would like to thank you for your support of our organization over the years. Since our founding in 1998, we have been committed to preserving the values and assets of our city’s greatest park. During this time we have built significant partnerships throughout our community with businesses, charitable organizations and our valued neighbors.
In partnership with Indy Parks, thousands of people have been touched through the efforts of our group. However, none of this would be possible without individuals like you who are willing to invest with your giving.
The year 2016 was an extraordinary time of both growth and opportunity for the FOGP. We hosted ReForest Garfield and planted 200 new trees in the park, had over 5,000 attend “An Evening for America” with the ISO, experienced record attendance at FOGP sponsored Christmas at Garfield and launched restoration efforts at the MacAllister Center which we will invest over $400,000. These are just a few examples of the FOGP at work in the past year and 2017 looks to be another year of great opportunity for us!
We are now into a new and exciting year and the FOGP requests you join our ongoing effort with a membership gift of at least $50.00. Your contribution will enable the Friends of Garfield Park to continue the work we do in our community. For this investment, you will receive regular Friends e-mail updates, recognition in our annual report and invitations to our special events. Also, you will receive two tickets to our “Friends Picnic in the Garden” event on June 1st. Please consider what you can do, large or small, and together we can make a difference in 2017.
All the best and thank you for your support!
Mark Bowell, Executive Director
Friends of Garfield Park, Inc.
P.S. We would welcome your consideration for an even larger gift to the FOGP through our League of Kessler or Lawton Brigade giving groups. Click this link to give now.
