This a special message is from Bob Kizer, Board of Directors, Friends of Garfield Park.
UPDATE… June 15th: New backstop on the middle field is completed and new pee wee diamond is ready to go.
Next step is installing new bleachers and benches… Let’s play ball!!!!
Monday, May 14th would have been my Dad’s 67th birthday. I miss him every day but baseball season is especially tough.
He loved the game so much and could often be found at his grandson’s games playing Suduko and reading the paper in between innings.
I was recently honored to find out that a collaboration between The Friends of Garfield Park and Play Ball Indiana will result in naming a newly renovated ball field “Robert L. Kizer Memorial Field”.
Please help me in raising money for this exciting project. You can use the “One Time Special Gift” tab in the FOGP Giving Center on this site to make your tax-deductible gifts in his honor. Just mention BOB in the notes section and it will be designated accordingly.
Thank you very much to all of you who made gifts to the Park in honor of Robert L Kizer and I hope to see you at the ballpark.
Bob
