Centennial Campaign 2016
Central to the mission of the Friends of Garfield Park Inc. is preservation and stewardship. In determining preservation priorities, the Friends refers to findings from the 2004 Garfield Park Cultural Landscape Report which cited the historic Sunken Garden and Fountains as the Park’s most important and historically significant features.
After being closed for over a year, the historic Fountains were restored and rededicated by the Mayor of Indianapolis in October 2013. Going forward, the Friends of Garfield Park, Inc., will be responsible for maintaining the 1916 Fountains and ensuring their preservation for many generations to come.
