Attention, Indianapolis! We are overjoyed to introduce the newest addition to our community, Libby Hiple, as the incoming Executive Director of Friends of Garfield Park (FOGP). Libby comes to us with an extraordinary blend of experience and a passion that perfectly aligns with our mission to enhance the splendor of Garfield Park for all. As an active participant in various initiatives, Libby has proven herself to be a dedicated leader with a track record of success.
In her dynamic career, Libby has made substantial contributions to organizations like Holliday Park Foundation, where she collaborated on fundraising strategies and is spearheading efforts with a newly forming Volunteer Board structure. Her commitment to community engagement extends to her current role as the Board President of the Warfleigh Neighborhood Association, where she secured a substantial $10,000 grant for community improvement projects. It’s evident that Libby brings not only a professional skill set but also a genuine desire to create positive impacts within the neighborhoods she serves.
A proud alumna of Indiana University, Libby holds a B.A. in Telecommunications with a minor in business. Her commitment to philanthropy and leadership skills were further honed during her time at Indiana University. There she was a member of the Steering Committee for the Indiana University Student Foundation and as a member of Delta Gamma, where she was awarded the Katherine Ober Memorial Scholarship.
Beyond her impressive volunteer background, Libby’s diverse professional experiences, including sales, networking, and a strong sense of accountability, have equipped her with a unique skill set. Libby understands the power of connection and community. Together with the Board, past and present, we are confident Libby can assure FOGP has a long-range strategy that achieves its mission.
We believe that Libby’s adaptability, drive, and passion make her the perfect fit to lead Friends of Garfield Park. As she steps into her role, we are excited about the fresh perspectives, creativity, and community-focused initiatives she will bring to our beloved park. Join us in extending a warm welcome to Libby Hiple, and let’s embark on this new chapter together as we continue to nurture and celebrate the vibrant heart of Garfield Park.
Libby succeeds Mike Lennox, who, as Interim Executive Director for the past few years, contributed strong organization and fund-raising expertise to lead the ongoing campaign to restore the Garfield Park fountains. Mike will continue on as consultant to provide for a smooth transition during the first part of 2024.
Please reach out to Libby and extend her a heart-felt welcome and congratulations. Contact her: eahiple@garfieldparkindy.org
