If you have been in the park lately, you have seen these yard signs sprinkled about! The capital campaign for the fountain restoration is regaining momentum, and we still need help to raise $1M.
The beautiful fountains in the three-acre Sunken Garden are one of the oldest defining features of Garfield Park, but lately the fountains have NOT been very picturesque.
To level set: The total project budget is $4M. The fountain repairs alone are consuming the entire $2.5M grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.
$1M is needed to complete the project – for hardscape improvements, landscape beautification and to establish a maintenance fund.
Friends of Garfield Park have received generous pledges and donations from private support totaling $400K, which has been allocated and/or used for design, preliminary infrastructure work, and held as a static maintenance reserve.
Every little bit helps! Thank you in advance for your support.
